REI Consultants' Biological Facility is designed from the ground up to ensure complete quality in-house service for strictly reliable and defensible results. REI Consultants performs toxicity tests (bioassays) in compliance with state and federal NPDES standards.

We are the only facility in this region that fully complies with EPA regulatory guidelines for a biological services organization.

All evaluations are performed within walk-in environmental chambers that accurately control lighting and temperature.

Organisms are cultured in-house to ensure that only healthy organisms of the proper age are used in toxicity studies.

Seven-day survival & growth tests for fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas).

Six to eight day survival & reproduction tests for the water flea (Ceriodaphnia dubia)

Acute Toxicity Studies - measuring effluent toxicity and estimating safe concentration of effluents in receiving waters

Chronic Toxicity Studies - to detect long-term adverse effects of effluents on aquatic organisms
